Chamlian’s curriculum allows for learning experiences that fully engage students while encouraging them to perform at their highest potential. To extend their learning beyond the classroom and to give them real-world experience, students at Chamlian are offered the opportunity to participate in various academic and extracurricular programs throughout the year.
People to People Program
Please visit the People to People Ambassador Program
Chamlian students have had the great opportunity to participate in the People to People program since 2003. The program was launched in 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to help promote opportunities for bridging cultural and political borders through unique travel experiences and fun-filled programs.
Students in grade 6 who exhibit outstanding academic performances by the the end of the third quarter are nominated each year by the administration to participate in the People to People’s World Leadership Forum. High-achieving students who meet the program’s criteria of academic excellence are nominated based on their G.P.A. ranking (3.5 or above).
Students who participate in the World Leadership Forum travel to Washington D.C. (all expenses paid by participating students) where they make friends with young leaders from all over the world, get unparalleled access to extraordinary people and places, and discover the rich history of our country’s capital.
We encourage all our students to continue working hard to meet the criteria, as we believe that this opportunity will provide participating students with an experience they will remember for a lifetime.
