Arshak Ghaloosian has been employed at Chamlian Armenian School since 1985. He attended the National University of Iran in Tehran and obtained a B.A. in mathematics and philosophical logic. In order to pursue a higher education leading to a Master's degree, he left Iran for England and studied at Manchester University. After two years, he completed his course of studies in the above mentioned fields. He also did a comprehensive research in existential philosophy and psychoanalysis with respect to phenomenology. While he was a student at Manchester University, he was helping out and teaching those students who were doing research or intending to obtain a bachelor's degree. Her relationship with Tufenkian started in 1992, early on in the school's history when it was called St. Mary's as the Director. Dr. Karayan has also worked with severely mentally ill patients at Glendale Adventist and Las Encinas hospitals, served as council member for the City of Pasadena for over four years, and is or has been an active member in numerous organizations such as CASPS (California Association for Students in Public Schools), the ARS (Armenian Relief Society), and the Western Prelacy Educational Council and Board of Regents. She received a scholarship from the Jeunesse Musicale Du Liban to attend Master Classes in Brussels, later became a piano teacher and the head of the Piano dept. at the Tekelian School of Music.
