Head of School's Message

On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to St. Mary’s Vahan and Anoush Chamlian Armenian School. It is my distinct privilege to serve as the Head of School of Chamlian Armenian School, a premier TK-8^th grade school serving our community since 1975.

At Chamlian Armenian School, we are invested in the success of each and every student. We believe in the education of the whole child and offer our students a program with a strong focus on academic excellence, both in English and Armenian, and provide opportunities for students to explore interests in STEAM, art, music, and athletics, while developing their character, citizenship and leadership skills.

Our dynamic and evolving program is rooted in tradition, but at the same time ensures that our students learn through innovative methods. Chamlian graduating students not only meet grade level expectations, but exceed them and are prepared to continue excelling in high school. Students depart Chamlian with a strong grasp on tools necessary for their success, including problem solving, creative thinking, decision making, citizenship, a strong sense of self esteem, as well as a keen foundation in Christian morals and values. Furthermore, through our strong and outstanding Armenian program, Chamlian students develop a deep respect and understanding of our rich Armenian heritage, while developing strong fluency in written and oral Armenian and Armenian History.

Աշակերտները Շամլեան Ազգային Վարժարանէն ստացած հայեցի ուսումով եւ դաստիրակարութեամբ պիտի զինուին: Հայերէն լեզուին, հայկական մշակոյթին եւ ժառանգութեան պարգեւը պիտի շաղախուի ձեր զաւակին էութեան հետ ու նպաստէ տիպար եւ արժանապատիւ սփիռքահայու կերպարը կերտելու: Թէեւ հայրենիքէն հեռու կ’ապրինք, սակայն հայրենիքին հանդէպ սէրը եւ սուրբ պարտաւորութիւնը պիտի ծաղկին ու աճին մեր աշակերտներուն հոգիներուն մէջ եւ անոնք պիտի ըլլան մեր համայնքին ապագայի հայրենասէր առաջնորդները: Շամլեան Ազգային Վարժարանը Հայ աշակերտին կը ջամբէ մայրենի լեզու, Հայոց պատմութիւն եւ անոր կը փոխանցէ Հայ մշակոյթին անփոխարինելի աւանդը։ Շամլեանը այն կրթօճախն է, ուր Հայ մանուկին ոգին կը թրծուի Հայրենասիրութեամբ եւ ազգային պատկանելութեան գիտակցութեամբ։

Having had the privilege of being a student here at Chamlian myself, I consider it a personal duty to provide an exemplary caliber of education and achievement opportunities for our students’ academic and emotional growth. Students' time here at Chamlian is of vital importance to me because the only way to see into the future is through the eyes of those who will create it.
