Summer Virtual Programs

Grades: Current Kindergarten - 5th Graders

This program is designed to keep our Tigers active and healthy during their time off in the summer! Have fun connecting with friends via zoom and staying active along the way. A healthy mind and body go hand in hand; sign up to ensure that your student remains physically active and healthy throughout the summer!

Grades: Current 5th - 7th Graders

Chamlian’s young writers will work on practicing varying writing styles through interactive exercises, lessons, readings, and written assignments. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels will be accommodated, with different styles of editing and feedback individualized for each student. 

Help your child unlock their writing potential to become more creative, convincing, and compelling writers. Summer is a great time to invest in your child’s writing future!

Identify a realistic problem and solve it through inquiry.  Research possible solutions, plan and design one solution to the problem. Then build a 3-dimensional model to present it virtually to your classmates. Students will be given a take-home kit with all materials they will need to work with.

The summer Reading Enrichment program is geared towards students entering 1st and grade who are interested in becoming more fluent readers and to develop a stronger sense of comprehension.  The program serves as an opportunity to reinforce the necessary foundations needed to be better prepared for 1st grade

Through engaging activities and games, the two-week program will promote and develop higher reading achievement while at the same time bolstering self-confidence and developing a life-long love of reading.

Core Algebra Concepts is a two-week summer program that is open to all current and incoming 7th and 8th grade students who would like to challenge themselves and learn fundamental ideas involving Quadratic Functions.  We will specifically focus on Graphing Parabolas, Interpreting Parabolic Graphs of real-life situations, and Solving Quadratic Equations by Factoring, Completing the Square, and using the Quadratic Formula.

Unleash the power of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) education as students participate in hands-on activities related to S.T.E.A.M. as they work towards their final project as they are challenged to put their creativity to the test.

Students will be given a STEAM take-home kit that will include all the required materials, such as a Makey Makey circuit board, a Micro-bit, and a sphero robotic ball and much more. All of these tools encourage students to get creative with circuitry and programming. Students will receive a hands-on learning experience! Students will be creating code, inventing musical instruments connecting our circuit boards with recycled materials, and other build robotic structures that can move!  

This online STEAM camp is specially designed for young students, and delves into the fundamentals of design thinking, building, and coding!

It will not only provide a virtual academic experience to review important skills needed to enter Kindergarten and First Grade, but it will also provide a fun and innovative program to acquaint our future students with Chamlian Kindergarten and First Grade!
