Ms. Lucy Kassabian

Hello! My name is Lucy Kassabian and I am honored to be a part of the incredible educational team at Chamlian! I have had the privilege of being a part of this wonderful school this past year and have gained an exceptional amount of respect and appreciation for all that this school has to offer.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and over four years of hands-on experience in education, I aim to bring energy, compassion, and creativity into every classroom I enter. Since my ultimate goal is to teach mathematics, I have started pursuing my teaching credential in Secondary Education for Mathematics at California State University of Northridge. I want to show students that math is not just a set of complex numbers and formulas, it’s a language for problem-solving, critical thinking, and discovery.

I started my teaching journey guiding students from of all ages in mastering mathematical concepts. I loved providing students with the opportunity to tackle various math lessons while using their own unique strengths, which in turn builds their confidence, with enough practice. As their instructor, being able to witness their progress firsthand is the most rewarding feeling, which is how I knew I was pursuing the right career.

Currently, I am proudly serving as a Substitute Teacher at Chamlian Armenian School, providing instructional support across multiple grade levels and subject areas. This role has strengthened my skills in classroom management, flexible lesson planning, and fostering a safe, supportive learning environment for all students. I am excited for the opportunity to deepen my connections with the students and collaborate even more closely with all of my fellow educators. Most of all, I am eager to continue growing as an educator while contributing to our vibrant, supportive learning community that makes Chamlian such a special place!
