The first stop of their educational trip led Chamlian's 6th grade students to significant Armenian landmarks throughout Fresno. They had a special service at Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, visited the Armenian Genocide Monument at Fresno State University, the Masis Ararat Cemetery where Soghomon Tehlirian is buried, and David of Sassoon's statue. They connected the history, heritage, and contributions of the Armenian community in the Central Valley to what they learned in their classes.
They then traveled to Sacramento, where they learned more about California's history. They took a tour of the Railroad Museum and visited the California State Capitol. They dove deeper into the legislative process and how the government functions at the state level.
