Leading with Heart: Shaping Classrooms and Young Lives
It started with story time.
As a Teacher’s Assistant sitting on the rug next to Mrs. Anita Torosian, I saw how a classroom could feel safe, joyful, and full of purpose. Watching her read with such warmth and energy showed me what it meant to truly connect with children. That simple daily ritual sparked my love for early childhood education.
Since I began my career in education, I’ve had the opportunity to teach across a range of grade levels, including roles as an RTI Teacher, Preschool Teacher, First Grade Teacher, and Kindergarten Lead Teacher. Now, as Senior Lead for TK–1st Grade, I not only guide and support our teachers in creating meaningful learning environments for young children, but I also manage the operations behind the TK–1st grade levels to ensure everything runs smoothly. In each of these roles, my focus has been on helping educators build classrooms that emphasize inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, collaboration, and customized learning pathways to support the growth of every child. Our goal is to nurture curiosity, independence, and confidence in each student, ensuring they develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
What has always stayed with me is the belief that every child deserves to be seen and supported. When we give them a strong foundation early on, they carry that with them for life.
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
