Hello! My name is Michelle Boghossian, and I’m thrilled to begin my first year as a first-grade teacher at Chamlian. Over the past two years, I’ve worked as a TK to 8 substitute teacher and a first-grade teaching assistant. These roles gave me meaningful experience across grade levels and helped me understand how to create a warm, supportive classroom. I’m passionate about helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I strive to create a space where every child feels safe, seen, and excited to learn.
I hold an M.A. in Social Entrepreneurship and Change from Pepperdine University, where I focused on educational equity and child advocacy. I also earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Pepperdine, which helped me develop leadership, communication, and organizational skills. These strengths help me manage a structured yet flexible classroom, lead with empathy, and design purposeful, engaging experiences that meet the diverse needs of my first graders.

Experience Highlights

  • First Grade Teaching Assistant: Supported instruction across all subjects, helped prepare materials and learning centers, built strong student relationships, and assisted with classroom routines.
  • TK to 8 Substitute Teacher: Taught across all grade levels and subjects, followed lesson plans, adapted quickly to different classrooms, and maintained a positive learning environment.
  • Chamlian Summer Camp Counselor: Led recreational and sports activities for grades K to 8, encouraged teamwork and confidence, and created a safe and engaging environment.
  • 8th Grade Girls Basketball Coach: Coached and mentored student-athletes, organized practices and games, and promoted leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Volunteer Work in Armenia: Taught English and supported underserved students through mentorship and enrichment activities that built literacy and communication skills.

Outside the Classroom I enjoy yoga, traveling, music, painting, going for walks, and spending time with my family and friends.
