FAQs
What does it mean to be on the waiting list?
The waiting list consists of all families interested in registering their children to Chamlian Armenian School. Students on the list are not ranked; if a space develops, all candidates for the space to be filled will be considered. Because there can be more applications to a school than openings at that school, enrollment is not guaranteed.
Does my child need to be enrolled in an accredited program to be able to register?
Yes, all students entering Kindergarten or First grade must complete an NAEYC or WASC accredited preschool or Kindergarten program.
I’m having trouble logging in to the Admissions Portal. What should I do?
For technical assistance, please contact our Director of IT at (818) 957-3398 x129 or email [email protected].
Does your waiting list roll over?
No, our waitlist does not roll over from year to year. Waitlists remain in place through the end of each school year. For example, if an application is submitted for the 2025-26 school year, a child’s name will be on the waitlist only until the end of this year. The following year, everyone has an equal chance when reapplying.
What is the cutoff age for enrollment for the 2025-2026 academic year.?
TK: Students whose date of birth falls between September 2, 2020 - February 1, 2021
Kindergarten: Students whose date of birth falls between September 2, 2019 - September 1, 2020
First Grade: Students whose date of birth falls between September 2, 2018 - September 1, 2019
*Students must meet age requirements for all grade levels. We do not allow for students to skip a grade nor do we retain students.
What is the difference between Pre-K and TK?
In TK classrooms, teachers use a modified Kindergarten curriculum that’s age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate for students who turn five years old in the fall. Our TK Program is designed to build a strong bridge between Preschool and Kindergarten. The curriculum is integrated with thematic units to promote development in the social-emotional, language, cognitive, and physical domains. In TK, our students also learn how to practice school-appropriate behavior. The Kindergarten CA Content and Common Core Standards are introduced in an explorative, integrated, and developmentally- appropriate environment.
