The goal of the Science department is to promote children's natural curiosity through interactive and hands-on activities. The department encourages students to use the Scientific Method in their learning such as observing, predicting, and classifying. Students learn to develop hypotheses, do research, plan procedures, conduct experiments, and draw conclusions.

In grades 1-6, the curriculum covers Life Science, Physical Science, and Earth Science.

Each year, the 7th and 8th grade students participate in the school Science Fair which allows them to use their science skills through hands-on experiences. Following a preliminary and final judging, finalists are selected to participate at the Los Angeles County Science Fair. The county winners then go on to participate at the State Science Fair competition.

For the past 12 years, Chamlian students have also participated in the Armenian Science Olympiad, organized by the Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America organization.
