Leading with Heart: Shaping Classrooms and Young Lives

It started with story time.

As a Teacher’s Assistant sitting on the rug next to Mrs. Anita Torosian, I saw how a classroom could feel safe, joyful, and full of purpose. Watching her read with such warmth and energy showed me what it meant to truly connect with children. That simple daily ritual sparked my love for early childhood education.

Since then, I’ve taught Preschool, Kindergarten, and First Grade. Now, as Senior Lead for TK–1st Grade, I guide and support our teachers while continuing to focus on what matters most: creating meaningful learning environments for young children. I help teachers build classrooms rooted in project-based learning, STEAM, and differentiated instruction that supports each child’s growth. Our goal is to help students become curious, independent, and confident learners.

I also work closely with students outside the classroom, helping them build strong social skills and positive relationships. I help coordinate TK–1st grade events that give students opportunities to express themselves, connect with one another, and feel part of a joyful learning community.

What has always stayed with me is the belief that every child deserves to be seen and supported. When we give them a strong foundation early on, they carry that with them for life.

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
